I don't know why they are prioritising people that are near death and aren't contributing to the economy.
Surely you focus on the 30 - 40 workforce first, get them back to work, then the 20 - 30, then the 40 - 50 and THEN go for older than that with a prioritising those in work
The government have done things well, but one of the areas they need to improve is trying to give something to everyone and doing the bleeding heart thing instead saying we are about getting our workforce and therefore our economy moving.
They are too frightened of seeing Jim 92 who fought in the war being wheeled out by the Mass Media.

There are a number of things that point to the rise in infections but the fact is they didn’t really start until October. You could point to the low level but growing infections in younger people over the summer and schools and unis going back in Sept/Oct. you could point to all the getting together in the UK and abroad over summer ( there is some evidence the posh kids were bringing it back into the UK after summer holidays like the skiing before) . The fact that 250,000 foreign students came in. The fact that loads are at teaching hospitals and you can see explosions around those hospitals. You had that whole Jewish holiday explosion. Bla blablablabla. All if this stuff is just part of our huge mobile multicultural free living society and there is I way you are stopping it.

As I admit, mate, I am not suggesting any of this is easy.
But, even allowing for my admitted bias (which is there for all to see), Johnson has made some crucial errors in my opinion. Errors which are entirely consistent with his well-known but widely ignored character flaws.

I’d love to see a leader explain to the nation that people die everyday ( unfortunately or not) and that sometimes it’s worse and some times it’s better but one fact remains and that every single one of you WILL die and you might do do dribbling alone in a care home being looked after by a Boston Dynamics robot or you might die gasping for breath due to the effects of a viral infection.
However, it is why religion was invented. To explain your miserable life and your inevitable death in lovely dramatic stories that make it seem less harsh. Now days we have “ the science” but you’ll still die.

I thought the government of my home province was doing well: clear honest briefing, tracing every case etc, and they were, but now they have cases 9x higher than they ever had during the first wave. Christmas is cancelled in the words of my brother in law.
Probably because people did what they wanted during the summer. Despite any guidelines - however lenient.
I think their strategy has been more consistent overall than here but it is not helping them right now.
My bias: I know the leader and he was one of the cool young federal MPs when I was an aspiring university political scientist.
Worth considering yours as well.

Have to admit some of the Covid rulings do not make sense, decisions seem to be based on a combination of medical advice and public opinion. Most of the UK are fed up to the back teeth with all this, which is why you see groups of people are doing what they like because they have just had enough of it.

People going round screaming "It's just a cold! It's just a cold!" didn't fucking help, either.
Many will have taken that on board because they couldn't face, at the time, the idea of their summer holidays/leisure time being fucked to buggery, so would have acted as if it was a touch of the sniffles and carried on as normal.
Here in Oman, things are seemingly getting back to something resembling normality, but the societal cost of being able to do so would not have been acceptable in the west.

I have never underestimated the difficulty of the task facing Johnson and you are of course correct - this is a global problem.
I would also say that I think the Government has done as much as could reasonably be expected to do in terms of providing financial insulation against the effect of Covid.
But it just appears to me that the Government has been blown around by the day's prevailing wind rather than adopting a strategy and sticking to it.
I mean, with rising cases across the UK, London facing Tier 3 etc etc, where the fuck is the justification for relaxing restrictions for five days of Christmas?
Johnson is merely running around like a fat albino spaniel trying to please everyone.

People are increasingly expecting instant gratification, that's true.
But there are also a lot of folk who would think that after almost a year of grief, apparently arbitrary restrictions, two lockdowns, an increasingly Draconian tier system and some ridiculously hyperbolic rhetoric from Johnson then some light at the end of the tunnel might be expected. It was, after all, in April that we had, according to our PM, apparently wrestled the thing to the floor.

The general public's impatience - which seems to get worse by the hour - doesn't help.
So used are they to instant on-line results/gratification, they expect a real-world virus to be totally eradicated within 30 minutes of a lockdown.
